Our story
In the heart of Bangladesh, a force for change and empowerment has been quietly shaping lives since 2012. Meet Global Unnayan Seba Sangstha (GUSS), a National NGO that wears its commitment to community welfare proudly. Registered under the Social Welfare Directorate in 2012 and the NGO Affairs Bureau in January 2017, GUSS has emerged as a beacon of hope and transformation.
From its humble beginnings, GUSS has expanded its footprint, reaching far and wide to make a difference. Starting with an office in Dhaka in February 2017, its reach extended to Sylhet, Sunamgonj, Cox’s Bazar, Noakhali, Rajshahi, Bhola, Patuakhali, Rajbari, Barguna, Lalmonirhat, and Kurigram. In each of these corners, GUSS has brought its mission to life through diverse programs – from Emergency and Humanitarian efforts to Inclusive Education, Maternal and Child Care, Water, Sanitation & Hygiene, and Livelihood initiatives.
Over the years, GUSS’s tireless efforts have led to remarkable transformations in the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged communities. By implementing a range of development and relief activities across the country, GUSS has proven that even the smallest actions can create lasting impacts. Through dedication and a deep commitment to its mission, GUSS has become a lifeline for those who need it the most.
GUSS believes in the power of collaboration to magnify its impact. Building longer-term strategic partnerships with organizations like Human Relief Foundation-UK, International Development and Relief Foundation Canada, Global Medic Canada, Muslim Aid USA, Human Care Initiative UK, and Bangladesh Regeneration Trust – BRTUK, GUSS ensures that its reach extends beyond borders. This network of support exemplifies GUSS’s dedication to leaving no one behind, reaching those who are often ignored and forgotten by the world.
In its journey, GUSS is not alone. Collaborating with the Government of Bangladesh, Community Based Organizations, Development Partners, International Organizations, Civil Society Groups, and UN Organizations, GUSS is aligned with a shared vision of progress and development.
